S-waver painted in an orange fading to yellow body with a pearl white belly and blue eyes.

Action

The S-Waver's defining feature is its wide "S" glide action. On a steady retrieve, the lure swings from side to side in broad turns rather than wobbling like a crankbait. The hinged body and soft tail create a very natural swimming motion that resembles a cruising baitfish.

How It Behaves in the Water

  • Rod tip high: creates a waking action just under or on the surface.
  • Rod tip down or slower retrieve: runs about 0–1 ft below the surface while maintaining the same S-shaped glide.
  • Twitches or short jerks: can make the bait suddenly dart or turn sharply, often triggering reaction strikes from following fish.

Best Uses

  • Targeting larger bass, pike, muskie, and other predator fish.
  • Fishing around points, weed edges, docks, and shallow baitfish areas.
  • Effective during spring through fall when predators are actively feeding.

Typical Retrieve

  1. Cast and let it settle briefly.
  2. Use a slow, steady retrieve to produce the wide glide.
  3. Add occasional pauses or twitches.
  4. Watch for fish following the bait—many strikes occur after a direction change or pause.

In simple terms, the S-Waver is designed to imitate a relaxed, vulnerable baitfish. Its wide side-to-side glide and ability to wake the surface are what make it effective for attracting trophy-sized fish.
